This photo was taken during my freshman year of seminary in 1986/87. Can you pick out the young aspiring cleric I used to be? I was so skinny then – but my wife says my hairstyle never changed. I thought of writing a whole post about this snapshot, but realized it tells the story better than I ever could. Comments welcome.
I use to read this blog back in the day, and bought your books when they first came out. They really connected with me having recently worked at Taco Bell. They are one of the few books that make it back in my re-read every few years. I just finished the Valentine day couple story and thought I would see if you were still posting. It warms my heart to see that you still are. Anyway, thought I would share. Thank you.
Hmmmm, it has been a while. I remember seeing a few interviews years back, after your first book came out and your anonymity got ‘blown’.
I’ll just make my excuses now, obviously it’s an old film photo and not as detailed as the newer digital ones. I’m going to go with back row, sixth from the right. Slightly behind the guy with the glasses, cream suit jacket and beige tie?
Glad to see you posting so much lately Steve, your writing’s as articulate, eloquent and moving as ever. Still means a lot to a lot of us, judging from the comments. Thank you.
