Restaurants: The New Sweatshops?

There’s a great article on Time.com titled Restaurants: The New Sweatshops?

“Eating out has become as American as apple pie, but for those manning the kitchen, restaurant work is anything but an American dream. Dishwashers, waiters and delivery people are increasingly served up unfair pay, discrimination and dangerous working conditions.”

Nice to see not everybody’s been hypnotized by FoodieProp! Read the article!

Sorry I’ve been incommunicado lately. It’s crunch time with the book and I’ve been really busy. I’ll try posting more stuff later this week. Please be patient with me!

  1. Waiter, I just got into your story and I’m absolutely hooked. I’m going to have to own this book of yours–and I know people have been complaining about the women, but as a female writer trying to work from a male perspective, it’s very enlightening and I feel like I can understand where you’re coming from.

Your style is easy on the eyes–simple when it needs to be and complex when the situation calls for it, and I’m glad to see that “a” in your pseudonym becoming an “r.”

    KALIKRNGUYX, get cancer and die.

  2. Chronos: changing the A to an R, that’s clever. I would never have thought of that unil you mentioned it. good work.

As the posts I’m reading get closer to book due day, I get more and more excited. I’m going to look for mthe book in my local bookstore or order it online. I can’t wait.

KALIKRNGUYX, or asianbeauty69 please re-map your keyboard to not include caps-lock and physically remove it. I really don’t like your posts, although they are better than some of the random spam. Too bad you don’t seem to be ‘burdened with an overabundance of schooling’.

    Have a good day, everyone.

  3. Oh yeah there’s dangerous conditions. I worked in a place where if you touched the pass in the wrong spot you got an electric shock. The owner claimed it wasn’t a problem but once the chef got a shock so strong it put him on the floor for a full minute.
